FUR MANAGER’S ANALYSIS

Considering the entire economy of the world and the fur market, I felt the prices paid for cats were at least better than expected. The twelve buyer companies were very competitive for cats. Trapper lots that were primarily heavy and well handled averaged in the $300 range while low grades were near $100 down to $2.00. Coyotes as expected showed little demand. Although the gray fox price was 50% below last year, they still moved at an acceptable level. We forget from year to year what grey fox prices have done. From the mid 1990’s into 2005 gray fox averaged less than $10.00.

I would like to thank again all of our members that supported our fur sale by consigning their fur and those that made donations to the Association.
